Wang Yun'en

Wang Yun'en Participating in the CyberFair gave me the opportunity to deeply explore local culture and environment, and learn how to use the internet as a tool for expression and communication. This activity not only enhanced my technical skills but also gave me a deeper understanding of the importance of teamwork. During the activity, we chose to visit Nanliao Fishing Harbor, a fishing port with local characteristics, rich in natural scenery and fishing village culture. I was responsible for making a map of Nanliao Fishing Harbor and organizing the special menus of local restaurants. While preparing the materials, I learned how to effectively gather information and turn it into clear and attractive visual content. Although I encountered many challenges during the process, such as the accuracy of map details and the selection of restaurant specialties, these became valuable learning experiences for me. During the visit to Nanliao Fishing Harbor, I felt very nervous, especially when we communicated with local fishermen and restaurant owners. Once, when the teacher asked me to ask questions to the restaurant staff, I couldn't think of any questions. This made me feel embarrassed and uneasy. However, with the help of other team members, I gradually realized that it is not necessary to ask perfect questions at the beginning. As long as you bravely speak up, even simple inquiries can lead to valuable exchanges. This experience taught me that not only is preparation important, but also the ability to adapt and the willingness to try are equally crucial. I also admire the locals' love for their environment and way of life. Their sharing helped me gain a deeper understanding of the characteristics of Nanliao Fishing Harbor. This experience in the CyberFair not only taught me professional skills but also made me deeply appreciate the value of cross-cultural communication and teamwork. I am very grateful for this opportunity to explore Nanliao Fishing Harbor with my team members and share what we learned through the internet with more people.

Yang Yetang

Yang Yetang I joined this club because I wanted to explore the unknown and improve myself. This trip to Nanliao Fishing Harbor gave me a lot of new insights into this place. Originally, I thought Nanliao was just an ordinary fishing port, but after visiting it in person, I discovered many unique features and stories worth exploring. First, I went to the shipyard in Nanliao. Although it is no longer in use, it still retains the old buildings and some old equipment. This shipyard used to be where fishermen made fishing boats, and the boats were almost all handmade. Although it is no longer in use, seeing these old equipment still allows me to feel the hard work of the fishermen at that time. Although the shipyard is no longer in operation, it is still a part of the history of Nanliao Fishing Harbor and helps me understand how this place once relied on the sea for a living. Next, I went to the visitor center, which provides a lot of information about the history and culture of Nanliao Fishing Harbor, as well as some stories about the development of the local fishing industry. The guided tour at the visitor center gave me more knowledge about the past and present of this place and helped me understand how people live and work here. Finally, I visited the ice factory, another historical witness of Nanliao Fishing Harbor. In the past, the ice factory was an important place for fishermen to store seafood. When fishermen caught a large amount of seafood, they would use the ice here to keep it fresh until it could be transported to other places. Although the function of the ice factory has changed now, it still retains a lot of the original equipment, allowing me to glimpse a part of the past fishing port life. This trip to Nanliao not only allowed me to experience the local marine scenery but also gave me a lot of knowledge about the history and culture of the fishing port. The shipyard, visitor center, and ice factory helped me gain a deeper understanding of the development of this place and sparked my interest in the past and present of Nanliao. I hope to come back in the future to continue exploring more stories of Nanliao!

Peng Boying

Peng Boying When I visited Nanliao Fishing Harbor in Hsinchu City, I felt that it was a very special place. Nanliao Fishing Harbor is not only an important place for fishermen to work but also a great place for people to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. This visit taught me a lot of new knowledge about fishing ports and increased my interest in the beauty of nature. In addition to the beautiful scenery of the fishing port, there are many recreational facilities around Nanliao Fishing Harbor. I saw many people walking, cycling, or sitting on benches to rest. Some people were fishing, others were flying kites on the grass, and some were taking photos to capture the beautiful scenes. The environment around the fishing port is also very clean, giving people a very comfortable feeling. Nanliao Fishing Harbor is not only a great place for sightseeing but also has a lot of delicious seafood to taste. The food here is very special, especially the fresh seafood. When I came to the fishing port, I saw many vendors selling freshly caught seafood, such as crabs, shrimp, fish, and shellfish. The food was very fresh and tasted delicious, making me enjoy it very much. The food at Nanliao Fishing Harbor allowed me to experience the fresh and natural taste of the sea and left a deep impression on me. In summary, this trip to Nanliao Fishing Harbor taught me a lot and made me love nature even more. I will cherish these beautiful scenes and hope to come back here in the future to enjoy the beauty of the sea and the tranquility of the fishing port.

Liu Enzhi

Liu Enzhi I chose the "CyberFair" club because it is not only interesting but also gives me the opportunity to deeply explore local culture. During the activities of this club, I visited Nanliao in Hsinchu and learned a lot of unique cultural history that is hard to find on the internet through personal experience and interaction. The most impressive part was the exchange with an experienced shipbuilder. This shipbuilder introduced us to the past of Nanliao Fishing Village through oral narration. She mentioned that Nanliao was once an important fishing center in Hsinchu, and in the early years, the boats were all handmade, each carrying the wisdom and hard work of the craftsmen. Shipbuilding is not only a skill but also a cultural heritage. I learned a lot about boat design and the life of local fishermen, which are first-hand information that is hard to find on the internet. Participating in the CyberFair made me realize that through on-site visits and interviews, I can learn more than from books or the internet. These experiences not only broadened my horizons but also gave me a deeper understanding of the cultural history of Nanliao. More importantly, I realized the importance of cultural preservation. These stories, if not recorded, may be lost over time. This experience made me cherish the history of Nanliao even more and inspired me to use technology to spread these stories, hoping to attract more people to know the charm of Nanliao Fishing Harbor.

Li Chengyang

Li Chengyang I joined this club initially to practice my web development and photography skills, but unexpectedly, it became a very precious experience in my life. Here, we not only arranged the itinerary but also designed questions to communicate with local residents. Our main goal was to promote the rich culture and long history of Nanliao to the world. During one trip, we discovered a shocking unfortunate situation. Due to the impact of the pandemic, the market was forced to close for three months. This was a huge blow to the workers who relied on the market for their income. Seeing this situation, we felt responsible to help them through our efforts, hoping to attract more tourists and customers to support local businesses and help them through difficult times. As we walked through the streets of Nanliao, we were infected by the strong cultural atmosphere. Unlike the city life we are used to, the culture of Nanliao is everywhere. We saw locals talking enthusiastically, helping each other, and protecting ancient historical sites that tell stories of the past. These experiences showed the resilience and unity of the community and made us deeply understand the importance of cultural preservation. This trip was not only interesting but also very valuable for me and our team. It gave us a deeper understanding of why cultural preservation is so important. The rich heritage and history of Nanliao should be cherished and promoted so that future generations can appreciate and learn from these valuable assets. We also found that cultural preservation is not just about preserving history but also about continuing a way of life, a community spirit, and emotional connections. Moreover, this experience made us feel the friendliness and enthusiasm of the local residents. They were not only willing to share their stories and experiences but also actively participated in our activities, which deeply moved us. We were not just here to learn and record but also to build friendships with them and contribute to promoting the beauty of Nanliao together. Overall, joining this club was a very positive experience for me. It not only improved my web development and photography skills but also made me understand the importance of cultural preservation. I am very grateful for this opportunity to contribute to such a meaningful cause and look forward to continuing this journey. I hope that through our efforts, we can attract more people to know and love Nanliao, allowing its culture and history to continue and develop.
